Fellow Aiden Profiler is a hobby project built and run by one person, based in Denmark. These terms are written in plain language on purpose. The short version: be decent, the core of the site is free, Premium is a fair trade, and a one-person project comes with one-person guarantees.
What the site is
The site turns a coffee bag into a brew profile for the Fellow Aiden coffee maker, sends it to your brewer, and helps you adjust it by taste. It also hosts a communal catalog of coffees and recipes that everyone can browse and contribute to.
This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Fellow Industries. "Fellow" and "Aiden" are trademarks of Fellow Industries and are used here only to describe what the site works with.
Your account
You sign in with Google or an email and password, handled by Auth0. Keep your sign-in to yourself and give accurate details. One free Premium trial per account; working around that with multiple accounts is not in the spirit of things.
Connecting your Fellow account
To send profiles to your brewer, you give the site your Fellow sign-in. By doing that you confirm the Fellow account is yours and you authorize the site to talk to Fellow's service on your behalf: verifying the connection, sending profiles, and (with Freshness AutoPilot) updating them over time. The credentials are stored encrypted and are never shown or logged; the privacy policy has the details. You can remove the connection at any time on the My Fellow Aiden page.
What you contribute
Recipes, comments, coffee details, and photos you add to the catalog stay yours. By contributing them you give the site permission to store and show them as part of the communal catalog, including to visitors who are not signed in. Contributions are shown without your name. You can delete your own contributions, and copies that other people already sent to their brewers are theirs to keep.
Only add content you have the right to share, and keep it about coffee. I may remove content that is illegal, abusive, or clearly off-topic.
Premium
Premium is a paid subscription that adds convenience features on top of the free core. The current prices, plans, and what is included are always shown on the Premium page and at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through "Manage subscription", and Premium then runs to the end of the period you already paid for.
- The free trial is once per account. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged.
- If you are a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the start of a paid period. In practice: if a charge went wrong or you regret it, write me within 14 days via the contact page and I will refund it.
- If the site ever shuts down for good, remaining prepaid time is refunded.
Fair use
The AI bag reads and online lookups cost real money per use, so they are rate limited. Do not script against the site, hammer the AI features, scrape the catalog wholesale, or try to get around the limits. Accounts that abuse the site can be suspended.
Brewing, honestly
Every profile is validated against the Aiden's own device rules before it is sent, so nothing the site produces asks the brewer to do something it does not allow. Taste is another matter: recipes are starting points, not promises, and you use the site and the profiles it generates at your own judgment.
What you can expect from a one-person project
I run this carefully, but it is a hobby project, not a company with an on-call rotation. The site is provided as-is: there may be downtime, bugs, or features that change or get retired. To the extent the law allows, my liability to you is limited to what you paid for Premium in the twelve months before the issue. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
Ending things
You can stop using the site whenever you like, and you can ask me to delete your account and data via the contact page. I can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with a refund of unused prepaid Premium time unless the abuse was the Premium features themselves.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and significant changes get a note on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by Danish law, without limiting the consumer protections of the country you live in. Questions, complaints, or anything else: the contact page reaches me directly.
